6.2 EDK - A Solaris installation from a CD-ROM does not work

Description

Keywords: install, 6.2i, 6.2

Urgency: Standard

General Description:
I am trying to install EDK 6.2 from the CD-ROM drive using Solaris, and the following errors occur:

"./instal~2.csh: /cdrom/edk_6.2i/sol/edk_6_2_sol.zip: cannot open
do_seekable: No such file or directory
G.zipfn='/home/user/EDK/fileun.zip'
do_seekable: No such file or directory
G.zipfn='/home/user/EDK/fileun.zip.zip'
do_seekable: No such file or directory
G.zipfn='/home/user/EDK/fileun.zip.ZIP'
unzip: cannot find /home/user/EDK/fileun.zip,
/home/user/EDK/fileun.zip.zip or /home/user/EDK/fileun.zip.ZIP."

Solution

This is a known issue; the installation scripts are concatenated on the CD image.

You can download this script file to install from the CD-ROM for Solaris:
http://www.xilinx.com/txpatches/pub/utilities/fpga/install_solaris.zip

This script will search for the CD-ROM and install the EDK tools.
