6.2 EDK IP Wizard - Simulator compiling problem with IP wizard templates when not using version ID

Keywords: XPS, import, simulation, MTI, NCSim, binding, entity, library

Urgency: Standard

General Description:
A simulator (ModelSim/NCSim) compiling error occurs when the top-level model name is the same as the logic library name. For example, if my top module is opb_foo, and I try to put it into logic library opb_foo, the simulator issues the following error:

"Same name for Library and Entity not allowed in Binding Indication"

ModelSim complains that it cannot expand the entity identifier.

To work around this issue for IP wizard, always use the version ID in GUI. As a result, the logic library name will be different than the top module name.

This problem is fixed in the latest 6.2 EDK Service Pack, available at:
The first service pack containing the fix is EDK 6.2 Service Pack 2.
