General Description:
When I program xc1800 PROMS when Automatic Checksum Insertion is enabled, iMPACT displays the following error:

"'1': Setting usercode...
done.
ERROR:iMPACT:583 - '1': The idcode read from the device does not match the idcode in the bsdl File.
INFO:iMPACT:1578 - '1': Device IDCODE : 00001111111111101111111111111111
INFO:iMPACT:1579 - '1': Expected IDCODE: 00000101000000100100000010010011
'1': Setting user-programmable bits...
done.
'1': Putting device in ISP mode...
done."

This error does not occur when I program User Code or when Automatic Checksum Insertion is disabled.

Solution

This problem has been fixed in the latest 6.2i Service Pack available at:
http://support.xilinx.com/xlnx/xil_sw_updates_home.jsp
The first service pack containing the fix is 6.2i Service Pack 3.
