When I use 8.1i iMPACT with a MultiPRO cable, a firmware upgrade is performed automatically. The process takes longer than several minutes and appears to hang. When I close iMPACT or disconnect my cable, the cable is no longer recognized and the pod lights do not work.
The firmware upgrade can take over five minutes to complete. Aborting the firmware upgrade by closing iMPACT, disconnecting the cable, or removing the power source leaves the cable in an unknown state. iMPACT cannot recognize the cable and the pod LEDs do not light up.
