6.3 / 6.2 EDK - LibGen does not support separate library generation for multi-processor systems

Keywords: XPS, XilFATFS, XILFILE, XILNET, libraries

Urgency: Hot

General Description:
Currently, LibGen builds libraries for all processors in a system. This is a problem if one of the processors in the system does not pass the DRC for the given library.

For example, XilFatFS requires a System ACE peripheral in the system. If you build a system with a System ACE connected to only one PPC, the other PPC (which does not have a System ACE) will fail the DRC because LibGen makes no distinction between either processor.

To work around this limitation, you must add the peripheral to the second processor system. The addressing for the peripheral must be valid, but no other connections are required.

In 6.3, the following solution applies:

You have to add one line

PARAMETER PROC_INSTANCE = ppc405_0 # replace instance name with the actual instance name in your design

to the MSS file in the xilfatfs library section. This feature is not supported by the XPS GUI so you will have to do this by hand-editing the MSS file.

This issue will be resolved in the 7.1 release.
