When the 6.2i iMPACT "Use HIGHZ Instead of BYPASS" preference option is set, JTAG configuration fails for all but the last Spartan-II/-IIE/-3 or Virtex/-E/-II/-II Pro/-4 FPGA device in any multiple device JTAG chain. DONE does not go High, and the device(s) fails to start up.
- This problem does not affect configuration if the "Use HIGHZ Instead of BYPASS" preference option is not selected. (By default the "Use HIGHZ Instead of BYPASS" preference option is not selected.)
- This problem does not affect chains containing only a single device, and does not affect the last device in a multiple device chain.
To work around this issue when using 6.2i or 6.3i iMPACT, uncheck the "Use HIGHZ Instead of BYPASS" box under the iMPACT "Edit -> Preferences" pull-down menu.
This problem is fixed in the iMPACT 7.1i design tools release.
