8.2i ChipScope Pro - Analyzer gets stuck after trigger is detected if the startup block is used

Description

After arming the trigger in ChipScope Analyzer, the status bar changes from "waiting to trigger" to "waiting to upload", but no data are captured. The analyzer uploads data, however, if "trigger immediate" is used.

Solution

This problem has been seen when the startup block has been instantiated in a design and GSR is toggled after arming the trigger. Since all ff's/memories are reset, the analyzer is put into an unknown state and is not able to upload the data.

We recommend not using the Startup block with ChipScope; however, if this is necessary, be sure not to toggle GSR while the trigger is armed.
