6.2.03i iMPACT - SVF/ACE file sequencing change for partial bitstream reconfiguration. Reconfiguration via ACE/SVF results in failure to detect PPC via JTAG

Description

General Description:

SVF/ACE file sequencing change for partial bitstream reconfiguration. Reconfiguration via ACE/SVF results in failure to detect PPC via JTAG.

Solution

To work around this issue, modify the SVF file as follows:

1. Replace SYNC word with NOP in cfg_in instruction following STATE RESET introduced by (Xilinx Answer 19440) (7/1/2004) for 6.2.03i:

STATE RESET;

SIR 10 TDI (03c5) TDO (0000) MASK (0000) ;

SDR 96 TDI (000000000000000066aa9955) => SDR 96 TDI (000000000000000000000000)

2. Remove the GHIGH at the beginning of the configuration bitstream cfg_in:

100000008001000c => 0000000000000000

For the ACE file, check the Preference option to keep the SVF file for ACE file generation. Modify the SVF file as noted before and generate the ACE file with the file utility provided in the link below:

This problem is fixed in 6.3isp3.
