LogiCORE xFFT v3.1, 3GPP TCC Encoder v1.0, 3GPP TCC Decoder v1.0 - Why do I get a memory collision error for the X_RAMB16 when simulating the xFFT, 3GPP TCC Encoder or 3GPP TCC Decoder, with VHDL, and targeting a Virtex-4 device?

Description

General Description:

Why do I get a memory collision error for the X_RAMB16 when simulating the xFFT, 3GPP TCC Encoder or 3GPP TCC Decoder, with VHDL, and targeting a Virtex-4 device?

Solution

This is a known problem and will cause NC-Sim to error and the simulation to stop.

To work around the problem, you can do a Verilog back-annotated simulation, or you can use another simulator such as ModelSim, which only gives a warning and will continue with simulation.
