6.3i XST - XST does not read the last `define statement in a file referenced by an `include statement

Description

Keywords: XST, Verilog, define, include

Urgency: Standard

General Description:
An `include statement can be used to access an external file for definitions (through the use of `define statements) and other information. In rare cases, users have reported that a `define statement is ignored by XST when it resides in a remote file.

Solution

If the `define statement is the last line in the file and is not followed by a carriage return, it will not be parsed by XST. To ensure that it is read, add a blank line at the end of the included file.

This issue has been fixed in the 7.1i release of XST.
