AR# 20675 7.1i ISE - The Hierarchy Separator option does not get carried over when a 6.1i project is opened in 7.1i ISE

General Description:
The synthesis option Hierarchy Separator does not get carried over from 6.xi to 7.1i during project migration.

Example:
- A project created in ISE 6.3i has the hierarchy separator option set to '/'.
- The project is opened in ISE 7.1i and converted to ISE 7.1i format.
- Instead of retaining the '/' value set in the original project, the Hierarchy Separator synthesis property is set to the default value '_'.

Solution

To work around this problem, migrate the project to 7.1i format and then reset the Hierarchy Separator property.

This problem has been fixed in the latest 7.1i Service Pack available at:
http://support.xilinx.com/xlnx/xil_sw_updates_home.jsp
The first service pack containing the fix is 7.1i Service Pack 1.
