Urgency: Standard
General Description:
When I select an automotive CPLD family (xa9500XL, xa2c), and Auto Device selection is used, the fitter fails and the following error occurs:
"ERROR:Cpld:993 - The device name 'Auto' is invalid. Please specify a correct device name, e.g. XC95108-7-PQ160.
ERROR: Fit failed
Reason:
Process "Fit" did not complete.
Done: failed with exit code: 0001. "
The script calling the fitter is incorrectly inserting the word "auto" into the command line (e.g., cpldfit -p auto xa95*xl-*-* instead of cpldfit -p xa95*xl-*-*).
To work around this issue, you should select a specific device when targeting either an Automotive CoolRunner-II or and Automotive 9500XL family.
During development, you might want to use the equivalent non-automotive part with the auto part selection option to determine the smallest size device for the design.
This problem has been fixed in 8.1i ISE.
