Do the Xilinx RocketIO transceivers support PAM-5 signaling, such as is used in 1000 Base-T?
All Xilinx RocketIO transceivers support NRZ signaling only. This means they cannot support 1000 Base-T directly which requires PAM-5 signaling. An alternative is to use a 1000 Base-T PHY with a SGMII or Serdes MAC (clock recovered version of SGMII with no TXCLK) interface.
