7.1i Install - NPX_PLUGIN_PATH variable is attempting installation to a non-existent directory

Keywords: Solaris, Linux, UNIX, ISE i386, Sparc, JRE, Sun

When I install the ISE CD, I am prompted to update my environment variables. The following path provided for variable NPC_PLUGIN_PATH is incorrect:

NPX_PLUGIN_PATH ${XILINX}/java/${PLATFORM}/jre/plugin/i386/ns4

The subdirectory structure of /i386/ns4 does not exist on my system. How do I work around this issue?

The NPX_PLUGIN_PATH variable is applicable only for CPLD reports that require Java plug-ins with Netscape. If you are not targeting a CPLD device or using Netscape, this variable is not required.

If it is required, you can modify the path to the system's directory structure. The following are the values required for each platform:

Solaris: NPX_PLUGIN_PATH = ${XILINX}/java/sol/jre/plugin/sparc/ns4
Linux: NPX_PLUGIN_PATH = ${XILINX}/java/lin/jre/plugin/i386/ns7

NOTE: This environment variable is not applicable with Linux 64-bit.
