AR# 21279 7.1i ISE - A State Diagram (".dia" file) may be added as a user document. However, if the project is closed and reopened, the ".dia" file is no longer shown in the Project Sources window.

General Description:
Add a ".dia" file to a project. It is placed in the Sources window as a user document. Close the project and open it again. The ".dia" file is no longer seen.

Solution

In 7.1i, the ".dia" file must be added to the project in order to open the State Diagram. Use Project -> Add Source each time the project is opened in order to open a state diagram through Project Navigator.

This problem has been fixed in the latest 7.1i Service Pack available at:
http://support.xilinx.com/xlnx/xil_sw_updates_home.jsp
The first service pack containing the fix is 7.1i Service Pack 2.
