If iMPACT is not properly closed while the USB cable is being used, the following error occurs:

"Cable is LOCKED. Retrying...
The cable is being used by another application.
Please try opening the cable connection at a later time."

To release the cable, you must run iMPACT in batch mode by opening a command line and entering the following lines:

impact -batch
cleancablelock
exit
