AR# 21931 Platform Cable USB - If iMPACT is not shut down properly while the USB cable is connected, the connection must be reset manually

If iMPACT is not properly closed while the USB cable is being used, the following error occurs:

"Cable is LOCKED. Retrying...
The cable is being used by another application.
Please try opening the cable connection at a later time."

Solution

To release the cable, you must run iMPACT in batch mode by opening a command line and entering the following lines:

impact -batch
cleancablelock
exit
