Why does it take a long time to generate large FFT point sizes (32k or 64k) on my Solaris machine?

Solution

Large FFTs are known to take a long time to generate on slower Solaris machine. These generation time can be longer than 5 hours. You can currently work around these long generation times by using a faster Linux machine. The generation time will be less than an hour for these larger point size FFTs, when using Linux to generate the core.
