Why are the Load and CE pin priorities in the Binary Counter GUI incorrect? The opposite priority of what I select is used for the Load and CE pins in the Binary Counter GUI.

In the Binary Counter v8.0, there is a discrepancy in the GUI when selecting Load/CE Priority in the Load options. When I select a particular option, the other option is used for the generated core.

This problem affects both the simulation and the implementation of the core.

Solution

This issue will be fixed in a future release of the Binary Counter.

To work around this issue, select the opposite priority in the GUI so that the generated core provides the correct results.

- For "Load overrides CE", select the setting "CE overrides Load" in the GUI, and the generated core behavior will be "Load overrides CE".
- For "CE overrides Load", select the setting "Load overrides CE" in the GUI, and the generated core behavior will be "CE overrides Load".

The above resolution resolves both the simulation and the implementation issues, and there is no need to maintain multiple copies of the core.
