8.1i ISE / EDK - "ERROR:HDLCompilers:87 - "system_stub.v" line 185 Could not find module/primitive 'system'"

When I synthesize a design that contains an instantiated XPS processor, the following XST error occurs:
"ERROR:HDLCompilers:87 - "system_stub.v" line 185 Could not find module/primitive 'system'"
For VHDL, the system module is getting black-boxed.
Solution
If system_stub is instantiated as a module in an ISE design, Project Navigator is not properly handling the ".xmp" file for processing.This issue is fixed in the latest 8.1i Service Pack, available at:
http://www.xilinx.com/xlnx/xil_sw_updates_home.jsp
The first service pack containing the fix is 8.1i Service Pack 1.
