AR# 22571 8.1i ISE/CORE Generator - "ERROR (dpm_coregenDoCoreRegen): could not get required Target Language value"

When I run the Regenerate Core process on an ".xco" source in an EDIF or NGC/NGO project, the following error occurs in the console window (similar to the edif_flow ISE Example):

"ERROR (dpm_coregenDoCoreRegen): could not get required Target Language value."

Solution

To work around this issue, launch Manage Cores from Project Navigator and regenerate the core from the CORE Generator GUI.

This issue is fixed in the latest 8.1i Service Pack, available at:
http://www.xilinx.com/xlnx/xil_sw_updates_home.jsp
The first service pack containing the fix is 8.1i Service Pack 1.
