Virtex-4 Video Starter Kit (VSK) - Why are there two Compact Flash (CF) cards in my kit, and why are they labeled Rev.1 and Rev.2?

Description

Why are there two Compact Flash (CF) cards in my kit, and why are they labeled Rev.1 and Rev.2?

Solution

The Rev.1 CF card is for use with the Video Starter Kit, and contains the demo files that are included with the Video Starter Kit.

The Rev.2 CF card is for use with the ML401 board when the Video Starter Kit board is removed.

Because the labels are on the packaging only, Xilinx recommends writing this information on the card label.

For more information on booting the Video Start Kit from the CF cards, see (Xilinx Answer 23164).
