8.2i ISE - Creating a new EDIF-based project with New Project Wizard causes fatal error "GuiUtilities:Gq_Application.c" when UCF file is included

I open New Project Wizard to create an EDIF top-level project and select an EDIF file and its accompanying UCF file. When I finish the New Project Wizard, Project Navigator opens the new project and then issues the following error message:
"Fatal Error : GuiUtilities:Gq_Application.c:570:1.12.10.2 - This application has discovered an exceptional condition from which it cannot recover. Process will terminate. To resolve this error, please consult the Answers Database and other online resources at http://support.xilinx.com. If you need further assistance, please open a WebCase by clicking on the "WebCase" link at http://support.xilinx.com."
Solution
This error occurs for the following reasons:- New Project Wizard (NPW) is used to create the new project (as opposed to New Project Dialog). NPW is the default.
- The project Type selected is EDIF.
- Both the EDIF file and the associated UCF file are added in the New Project Wizard.
- The "Open Design Summary when project is opened" option is selected. This option is on by default.
You can prevent the error by changing any one of these conditions.
This problem has been fixed in the latest 8.2i Service Pack available at:
http://www.xilinx.com/xlnx/xil_sw_updates_home.jsp
The first service pack containing the fix is 8.2i Service Pack 1.
