9.1i ISE - Once an implementation is started in Xplorer mode, it cannot be stopped from Project Navigator

Keywords: timing, closure, constraints, period, process, MAP, place, route, stop, PAR, place and route, place & route

Setting the Xplorer Mode property (under Implement Design Properties) to timing closure allows Project Navigator to run several iterations of the implementation processes while changing various process properties to meet timing constraints. However, once implementation is started with Xplorer mode set to Timing Closure, implementation cannot be stopped until the timing constraints have been met or all iterations have completed. The Stop option has no effect.

The only way to stop the process without allowing Xplorer to run to completion is to kill the Project Navigator process (_pn) and any implementation processes that have started.
