MPMC2 - What are the software requirements for MPMC2?

What software tools are required to use the Multi-Port Memory Controller 2 (MPMC2) GUI? Which operating systems are supported?

Solution


The latest version of the MPMC2 release is version 1.8



Operating Systems

The MPMC2 tools are supported under Windows XP Service Pack 2 and Red Hat Enterprise Linux with kernel versions of 2.4 or later.



Required Xilinx Tools

Version 1.8 requires the Xilinx Embedded Development Kit (EDK) version 9.1i with at least Service Pack 1 and Xilinx ISE version 9.1i with at least Service Pack 1.

Version 1.7 requires the Xilinx Embedded Development Kit (EDK) version 8.2i with at least Service Pack 2 and Xilinx ISE version 8.2i with at least Service Pack 3.

Version 1.6 requires the Xilinx Embedded Development Kit (EDK) version 8.2i with at least Service Pack 1 and Xilinx ISE version 8.2i with at least Service Pack 2.



In addition to these software requirements, refer to the installation guide for the required path variables.



MPMC2 version 1.7 and version 1.8

For version 1.7 of the MPMC2, a patch must be installed.



For Windows operating systems, please ensure that the patch documented in (Xilinx Answer 24038) is installed.



MPMC2 version 1.6 only

For the older 1.6 release of the MPMC2, two patches for ISE Service Pack 2 are required in order for the MPMC2 tools to work. These patches will not be required for Service Pack 3 or later versions of MPMC2 (1.7 and later).



For Windows operating systems, please ensure that the patch documented in (Xilinx Answer 23909) is installed.

For Linux Operating Systems, please ensure that the patch documented in (Xilinx Answer 23910) is installed.
