The first data byte on a retry transaction is the same data word that was sent during the last data transfer of a transaction where the latency timer had expired.

Solution

This problem has been fixed in the latest EDK 8.2i Service Pack, available at:
http://www.xilinx.com/xlnx/xil_sw_updates_home.jsp
The first service pack containing the fix is EDK 8.2i Service Pack 1.
