8.2i Constraints Editor - Crashes on Global tab/category on PERIOD cell of 1 ms

Description

After launching Constraints Editor, I select the Global tab/category and enter 1ms in the PERIOD cell for my clock. The Constraints Editor reports that this value is incorrect, I select OK, and then it crashes. When is this going to be fixed?

Solution

You can work around this issue by either entering a value without units, such as 12 (instead of 12 ns) or by double-clicking in the cell to display the dialog box for that constraint and entering 1 ms. 

 

This problem has been fixed in the latest 8.2i Service Pack available at: 

http://www.xilinx.com/xlnx/xil_sw_updates_home.jsp
The first service pack containing the fix is 8.2i Service Pack 2.
