8.2i EDK - Various issues are encountered with the "system_init" file for simulation

When simulating an EDK system, there are various problems with the initialization of the "system_init" file.
Solution
This problem has been fixed in the latest EDK 8.2i Service Pack, available at:http://www.xilinx.com/xlnx/xil_sw_updates_home.jsp
The first service pack containing the fix is EDK 8.2i Service Pack 1.
