AR# 24480 9.1i ISE - Project Navigator does not display CPLD Fitter Report, "Page not Found" and "The page cannot be displayed"

The Fitter report should automatically open upon completion of the Implement Design process for a CPLD project. In ISE 9.1i, the fitter report does not open.

If the Project Navigator CPLD reports preference (Edit -> Preferences -> ISE General) is set to "HTML", attempting to open the report, displays a message such as "Page not Found" or "The page cannot be displayed" (depending on your browser selection). Attempting to display the link in an external browser produces a message similar to the following:

"Cannot find 'file:///C:/jc2_sch/jc2_top_build_html/fit/report.htm'."

If the Project Navigator CPLD reports preference is set to "text", attempting to open the report displays an empty page with a tab titled <project_name_summary.rpt>.

Solution

The problem is that one of the routines used for locating the Fitter report file is inadvertently adding "_summary" or "_build" to the report file location or name. To open the report, browse to the report file in an explorer window or enter the file location in a browser window (without the extra "_build" or "_summary" text.

This problem has been fixed in the latest 9.1i Service Pack available at:
http://www.xilinx.com/xlnx/xil_sw_updates_home.jsp
The first service pack containing the fix is 9.1i Service Pack 1.
