LogiCORE 802.16E Convolutional Turbo Code (CTC) Decoder v2.0 - Switching between different block size gives errors

Description

When there is a switch from a larger block size (that is, 480) to a smaller block size, the CTC Decoder operates incorrectly. Why?

Solution

Patch Install Instructions for CTC Decoder

1. Download the CTC Decoder patch from:

http://www.xilinx.com/txpatches/pub/swhelp/ip_updates/tcc_dec_802_16e_v2_0_rev1.zip

2. Extract the "tcc_dec_802_16e_v2_0_rev1.zip" to your CTC Decoder install directory. Read the "read me" file.

Patch Fixes

Issue: -

There are two sets of blocks for the CTC Decoder:

First set: 24, 36, 48, 72, 96, 108, 120, 144, 180, 192, 216 and 240

Second set: 480, 960, 1440, 1920 and 2400

The CTC Decoder operates correctly if blocks are switched within the same set.

However, when using the netlist in %CTC Decoder%\TCC16eNetlist\Netlist\SISO4\EDIF2400, where %CTC Decoder% is the directory location of the CTC decoder installation, the CTC Decoder can operate incorrectly when switching from the second set to the first set.

Symptom: When switching from the second set to the first set, there is incorrect data on the CTC Decoder output.
