9.1i EDK - "ERROR:MDT - xget_handle PROCESSOR * : A NULL handle was provided"

Description

When I convert an EDK 8.2i design to 9.1i, the following error messages occur:

"ERROR:MDT - xget_handle PROCESSOR * : A NULL handle was provided

ERROR:MDT - cpu_ppc405 () - expected integer but got ""

while executing

"xget_handle $mss "PROCESSOR" "*""

(procedure "xdefine_processor_params" line 19)

invoked from within

"xdefine_processor_params $drv_handle "xparameters.h""

(procedure "::sw_cpu_ppc405_v1_00_a::generate" line 14)

invoked from within

"::sw_cpu_ppc405_v1_00_a::generate 40638900"

ERROR:MDT - Error while running "generate" for processor ppc405_1...

make: *** [ppc405_0/lib/libxil.a] Error 2"

Solution

The PROCESSOR instance name was not written to the MSS file.

To work around this problem, do the following:

1. Select the Software pull-down menu in XPS.

2. Select Software Platform Settings...

3. Choose ppc05_1 at the top.

4. Click OK.

This problem has been fixed in the latest EDK 9.1i Service Pack, available at:

http://www.xilinx.com/xlnx/xil_sw_updates_home.jsp
The first service pack containing the fix is EDK 9.1i Service Pack 1.
