9.1 System Generator for DSP - Why do I get the error message "All Xilinx Blocks must be contained in a level of hierarchy with a System Generator Token" when I use the multiple sub system generator flow or have my token in a sub-system?

When I update or try to simulate the design, the following error message occurs:

"All Xilinx Blocks must be contained in a level of hierarchy with a System Generator Token"

even though my design does contain a System Generator token block.

Solution

There are several System Generator blocks that incorrectly assume that the token will be at the top level of the System Generator model hierarchy. When it is not found in the top level, the error message appears.

To work around this issue, the System Generator token must be placed at the top level of your model. If you are using the Multiple Sub-System Generator token, each sub-system will need to be generated as its own model with a System Generator token at the top level and manually combined after generation.

This is a known issue and will be addressed in a future version of System Generator.
