LogiCORE for PCI-X - NGDBUILD:440 - has unconnected output pin

Description

When running the core for PCI-X through implementation, I discover that warnings are generated in NGDBUILD. These warnings state that certain internal core signals are left unconnected. Are these warnings safe to ignore?

Warnings seen in NGDBUILD report (.bld)

WARNING:NgdBuild:440 - FF primitive

'XPCI_WRAP/XPCI_CORE/BU2/U0/pcix_inst/XPCI_PARR' has unconnected output pin

WARNING:NgdBuild:440 - FF primitive

'XPCI_WRAP/XPCI_CORE/BU2/U0/pcix_inst/XPCI_SERRR' has unconnected output pin

Solution

Inside the core, duplicates of the output signals are created for timing purposes. However, not all of these duplicates are used. The unused ones are left in the code for consistency, and it is expected that the tool will trim the unused signals. The tool is reporting that these duplicates are not connected (unused) and the warning can be ignored.
