Description
Keywords: IP, sources, Project Navigator, added
A core is generated successfully through Project -> Create New Source. However, the .xco file is not added to the Project hierarchy in the Sources window even though the "Add to Project" option is selected. The following error is written to the ISE console:
"ERROR: A Core Generator generated file <core_name>/simulation/glbl.v does not exist in the project directory!"
This error is written out for every file in the simulation directory.
Solution
This error can occur if a change is made to the project directory or options after one core has been generated. The XMDF file might pass information that is no longer valid. You can add the core to the project using the Project -> Add Source (or Add Copy of Source if the core was not created in the project directory).
