When trying to follow the PowerPC tutorial on the ML403 board during the instantiation of the XMP file in ISE, an error occurs:

"XPS - Error: the HDL template for the system.xmp could not be found. Make sure the XPS project is complete."

Solution

You can resolve this issue by making sure that the project location does not have spaces.

For example, a valid location is C:/EDK_Examples/PPC_Tutorial. An invalid location is C:/Documents and Settings/EDK Tutorial.
