Why does the xps_ll_temac result in an evaluation license warning?
Solution
The EDK XPS_LL_TEMAC supports the following configurations:- Virtex-6 FPGA Hard TEMAC configuration: does not require a license key
- Virtex-5 FPGA Hard TEMAC configuration: does not require a license key
- Virtex-4 FPGA FX Hard TEMAC configuration: does not require a license key
- Soft Tri-Mode Ethernet MAC configuration: this configuration requires the xps_ll_temac license key
The tools will try to check out a license for the "soft_temac_wrap_v2" when implementing a hard-block design. At the least an evaluation license for the "soft_temac_wrap_v2" is needed even when implementing the hard block design. This is due to a tool limitation; there will not be a hardware timeout period when implementing a hard block design. An evaluation license can be acquired through the online license management page on xilinx.com.
