9.2 SmartModel - How can I use the 32-bit SmartModels on a 64-bit OS environment?

The OS environment and simulator I am using are 64-bit, and I would like to simulate a design that requires SmartModels. According to the Synthesis and Simulation Design Guide, SmartModels are not supported on a 64-bit OS. How can I simulate my design?

If you can run your simulator in 32-bit mode, you may use the 32-bit SmartModels to simulate your design. To install the 32-bit SmartModels, you are required to install the 32-bit version of ISE on the 64-bit machine. You can then follow the guidelines described in the "Synthesis and Simulation Design Guide" for installing the SmartModels and setting up the simulator environment.

For information on how to install the 32-bit version of ISE on a 64-bit OS, refer to (Xilinx Answer 12793).
