Currently, if the read protect is selected in iMPACT and the user tries to reprogram the part, iMPACT reports "success" when it has failed.
If the read/write security is set for a CoolRunner-II device, it prevents subsequent program operations. The device must be erased before the device can be readback or programmed. Therefore, it is correct behavior that the part is not reprogrammed. A future release of iMPACT will remove the reported success and warn users that the part is read protected.
