Do the versions of ISE and ChipScope that are used have to match up?
Solution
In general, the version of ChipScope (up to the service pack) must be the same as the version of ISE installed on your system.
For example, version ISE 9.2 SP1 = ChipScope 9.2 SP1 and ISE 9.2 SP2 = ChipScope 9.2 SP2, etc., are tested, no other combinations.
You may not see "ChipScope Definition and Connection File" when you attempt to add "new source" in ISE if the versions are incompatible.
