10.1 ChipScope Pro - "Driver installation failed. Please check the /.xinstall/install.log for more information on the cause of the failure."

Description

During installation of ChipScope Pro, the following message appears:

"Driver installation failed. Please check the <Install Destination Directory>/.xinstall/install.log for more information on the cause of the failure."

When I check the "install.log," I find the following messages logged:

"Day Date Time TZ 2008:: summary= selected: ChipScope Pro

Solution

The issue is with the UNC path used for the install directory. To work around this issue, install the tools without the cable drivers script selected. Once the tools install is complete, you can install the cable drivers using the script in the FTP link (Xilinx File http://www.xilinx.com/txpatches/pub/swhelp/foundation/30231.zip).
