I cannot connect when I try to specify the USB cable in either the XMD Debug Options GUI or through the XMD command line.
Is there a work-around for this problem?
Solution
When the XMD Debug Options are set to Auto, or the cable type is not specified on the command line, XMD can connect without any problems.
A patch for EDK 9.2i Service Pack 2 has been made available:
1. Download either the Linux or Windows XP patch:
ftp://ftp.xilinx.com/pub/swhelp/ise9_updates/xmd_92_sp2_lin_patch.zipftp://ftp.xilinx.com/pub/swhelp/ise9_updates/xmd_92_sp2_nt_patch.zip2. Rename the old XMD executable in $EDK/bin/<nt | lin>/xmd<.exe>
3. Unzip the file into $EDK/bin/<nt | lin>
This fix will become mainstream in EDK 10.1 Service Pack 1.
This problem has been fixed in the latest EDK 10.1 Service Pack, available at:
