AR# 30680 10.1 Schematic - Editing a preference for a schematic, symbol editor, or RTL/Technology viewer results in a crash if the application is in use

While using RTL Viewer, Technology Viewer, Schematic Editor, or Symbol Editor, if I select Edit -> Preferences and change any preference for the open application, then select Apply or OK, Project Navigator completely closes.

Solution

This occurs any time one of these four applications are open and a preference value for the application is changed and applied.

For Windows operating systems, this problem has been fixed in the latest 10.1 Service Pack available at:
http://www.xilinx.com/support/download/index.htm
The first service pack containing the fix is 10.1 Service Pack 2.
