LogiCORE Multiplier v10.1 - Why is my constant-coefficient multiplier mapped to distributed RAM, when I selected Block RAM, when targeting Virtex or Spartan-2?

Description

Why is my constant-coefficient multiplier mapped to distributed RAM, when I selected Block RAM, when targeting Virtex or Spartan-2?

Solution

There is currently no way to work around this issue. It is recommended that if you want to target a constant-coefficient multiplier, you should target the distributed memory (LUT RAM) option in the core, as it will result in a better implementation.
