Launching an Xbash shell from DOS intermixes the DOS prompt with the bash prompt. How can I obtain the normal bash behavior?
To work around this problem, press Enter until the bash prompt shows up. Once you are on the bash prompt, type 'exit'. The exit command will cause the DOS shell to terminate, leaving only the bash shell.
This problem has been fixed in the latest 10.1 Service Pack available at:

The first service pack containing the fix is 10.1 Service Pack 3.
