When I install the Xilinx Cable Drivers, the following warning appears:
"There was an error installing the hardware Xilinx. An error occurred during the installation of the device. A service installation section in this INF is invalid".
How can I work around this?
For more Cable Support Articles and other Configuration Related Articles, see (Xilinx Answer 34104).
To work around this issue, browse to the %Xilinx%/bin/nt in the command prompt and manually install the driver using the following commands:
wdreg -inf windrvr6.inf install
wdreg -inf xusbdrvr.inf install
This should complete the install.
Another possible root cause is that you have a 32-bit ISE installation on a 64-bit machine. If that is the case, the work-around is similar. However, the needed wdreg executable is different. Browse to the %Xilinx%/bin/nt64 in the command prompt and manually install the driver using the following commands:
wdreg -inf windrvr6.inf install
wdreg -inf xusbdrvr.inf install
