I receive an "IOs placed on prohibited sites" error when I run DRC check in PlanAhead after placing an I/O on pin AC5. According to the Virtex-5 FPGA RocketIO GTP Transceiver User Guide, AC5 is not a pin that would cause crosstalk. Is the user guide correct, or is PlanAhead's DRC check?
Solution
The user guide is correct; it is legal to place a signal on pin AC5.This issue is fixed in the 11.2 release of PlanAhead.
