11.1 EDK - Error "Invalid hardware Specification file"

Launching SDK from XPS results in an error and the software hangs.

What is causing this problem?

Solution

This error occurs when the SDK project is on a mounted drive.

To work around the problem:

1. Map the network drive in Windows.
2. Launch SDK by itself and then browse to the project location on the mapped drive.

This problem has been fixed in EDK 11.2, available at:
