When I attempt to migrate to a Spartan-6 or Virtex-6 design, the following error occurs:

"ERROR:EDK:3193 - issued from TCL procedure
"::hw_mpmc_v5_02_a::iplevel_drc_partno" line 19
C_MEM_PARTNO (mpmc) - The parameter C_MEM_PARTNO=HY5PS121621AF-C3 is not
found in the memory database."

How do I resolve this problem?

Solution

The part requested does not exist in the new Virtex-6 or Spartan-6 MIG database. Virtex-6 users can use the CUSTOM part to fill in data sheet parameters manually. Spartan-6 only supports memory devices listed in the Spartan-6 Memory Controller Block (MCB) User Guide.

The following is from page 15 of the MPMC data sheet:

For Spartan-6, Virtex-6, the database is obtained from MIG and contains only approved memories for each architecture. Spartan-6 does not support CUSTOM memory parts.

More details to the EDK error message might be added in a future EDK software release.
