11.2 iMPACT - Non-Xilinx devices in JTAG chain result in "INFO:iMPACT:477 - The bsdl for device 'unknown' is out of date. Please check your installation."

When I attempt to initialize chain in iMPACT, my non-Xilinx devices are not recognized and I see the following messages in the console:
INFO:iMPACT:477 - The bsdl for device 'unknown' is out of date. Please check your installation.
INFO:iMPACT:583 - '2': The idcode read from the device does not match the idcode in the bsdl File.
INFO:iMPACT:1578 - '2': Device IDCODE : XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
INFO:iMPACT:1579 - '2': Expected IDCODE: XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
INFO:iMPACT:477 - The bsdl for device 'unknown' is out of date. Please check your installation.
There are non-Xilinx devices in the JTAG chain. How do I work around this issue?
Solution
To work around this issue, you need to manually define the JTAG chain.1. Open iMPACT in Boundary Scan Mode.
2. Add the Xilinx devices by right-clicking in the Boundary Scan window and selecting "Add Xilinx device". The BSDL files from the install directory or the design files can be used.
3. Add the non-Xilinx devices by right-clicking in the Boundary Scan window, select "Add Non-Xilinx device" and add the appropriate BSDL files.
NOTE: Take care to add the devices in the correct order.
This issue is scheduled to be resolved in iMPACT 11.3.
