I have recently installed the Xilinx ISE Design Suite, and neither the 32-bit, nor the 64-bit version of Project Navigator will launch. The command line tools work just fine.
Solution
Xilinx has recently uncovered an issue with the CUPS printer daemon on Linux systems. To determine if this is what is causing the crash on your system, shut down the CUPS daemon (if you have it running) and launch the Xilinx Project Navigator tools.If the Xilinx tools launch with the CUPS daemon disabled, please file a WebCase with Xilinx Technical Support at:
