AR# 33003 11 EDK - gmake: *** No rule to make target `implementation/system_bd.bmm', needed by `SDK_Export/hw/system_bd.bmm'

I have an embedded design that does not have any block RAM because all of the software will reside in external memory. When I try to export my design to SDK, I receive the following error message:

"gmake: *** No rule to make target `implementation/system_bd.bmm', needed by `SDK_Export/hw/system_bd.bmm'. Stop. ERROR:EDK - Error while running "gmake -f system.make exporttosdk'."
Total Test Runtime is: 01:17:31"

Solution

The work-around is to create an empty <design_name>_bd.bmm file and place it in the project's implementation directory.
